how it works

Fill out the form and submit one original photograph captured at Buena Vista Studio within the last 60 days.
Submissions close on the 20th at 11:59 PM (CST).
Eligibility: Submitted photographs must be original works captured at Buena Vista Studio within the last 60 days. One submission per photographer per month.
After submissions close, Buena Vista Studio selects 10 finalist photographs to advance to the final voting round.
Each finalist is then evaluated through a three-part voting process:
Owner Vote
The Buena Vista Studio owners evaluate each finalist based on creativity, storytelling, technical quality, and overall impact.
Member Vote
Buena Vista Studio members cast their vote for the finalist they believe deserves to be featured.
Public Vote
The 10 finalists are showcased on Instagram, where the community can vote for their favorite image.
The combined results from all three voting groups determine the Photo of the Month.
*Finalist photographs may be featured on Buena Vista Studio's website and Instagram during the voting period.
The winning photographer is announced on the 25th of each month and receives:
- A 24×36 professionally printed display of their photograph, showcased outside Buena Vista Studio for one month.
- Their artist description, contact information, and QR code displayed alongside their work.
- A pop-up feature and blog spotlight on the Buena Vista Studio website, linking viewers to their website or social media.
- Recognition across the Buena Vista Studio social media platforms.
- Two complimentary hours at Buena Vista Studio.
- Their 24×36 print to take home after the display period ends and the next month’s winner is announced.

No. Each photographer may submit one photograph per monthly competition. We encourage you to choose the image that best represents your creativity and vision.
No. The program is open to anyone who has photographed at Buena Vista Studio.
Only photographs captured within the last 60 days are eligible.
No. Buena Vista Studio will produce only one 24 × 36 exhibition print for the winner. The print is displayed for one month and then gifted to the winning photographer. The photograph will never be sold by Buena Vista Studio.
Once your submission has been received, you'll receive a confirmation that your entry has been successfully submitted.
After the submission period closes on the 20th of each month, Buena Vista Studio will review all eligible entries and select 10 finalist photographs to advance to the final voting round.
If your photograph is selected as a finalist or the monthly winner, a Buena Vista Studio owner may contact you directly to:
- Confirm your submission details.
- Request the original high-resolution image file to ensure exhibition-quality printing.
- Verify your artist statement and any optional website or social media link for your featured display.
- Collect any additional information needed for your website feature, blog spotlight, and promotional materials.
The 10 finalists will be showcased on Buena Vista Studio's Instagram during the public voting period, where the community will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite image alongside votes from Buena Vista Studio owners and members.
The winning photographer will be announced on the 25th of each month.
