  • Buena Vista Studio is located on the second floor of Warehouse 5 in downtown San Antonio. Detailed parking, access, and entry instructions are provided prior to your session.

    As a little bonus, Mural Roasters is located on the first floor of the building. Let them know you’re a client at Buena Vista Studio Suite 205 to get a discount on your order.

  • Unfortunately, no. Our building is nearly 100 years old and does not have elevator access. Buena Vista Studio is located on the second floor, so while there is a staircase involved, it’s a fairly quick walk up to the studio.

  • Free parking is available directly across the street from the building and along surrounding street parking areas near Warehouse 5.

    A detailed parking map and arrival instructions will be included in your Studio Guide sent prior to your session for the easiest arrival experience.

    Please do not park beyond the black gates located behind the building, as those areas are reserved and not part of Buena Vista Studio parking.

  • Our standard studio hours are 8 AM to 8 PM. After-hours sessions may be accommodated upon request and approval.

  • Buena Vista Studio comfortably accommodates up to 6 people at a time. While we are an intimate space, the studio offers a lot of versatility through our layouts, movable setups, props, furniture, and equipment, allowing the space to transform well for a variety of creative needs.

    Larger productions or teams may be accommodated depending on the type of session. Please send us a message in advance so we can help determine if the space is the right fit for your project.

  • Your rental includes access to a variety of studio essentials, props, and creative tools designed to make your session smooth, comfortable, and versatile. Amenities include:

    • Large industrial-style natural light windows
    • Movable cyclorama (cyc) wall with detachable stage
    • Moving mirror and stationary mirror
    • Large movable olive tree
    • Matching accent chairs
    • Wooden ladder prop
    • Various cylinder podiums and risers

    We’re always continuing to add thoughtful touches, props, and creative tools to elevate the studio experience for our guests.

  • We offer softboxes, light stands, C-stands, reflectors, and a flashlight for use during your session. At this time, we do not provide strobes or advanced studio lighting equipment.

    Buena Vista Studio was designed to be a natural light photography studio, and we pride ourselves on the soft, consistent light throughout the space.

  • Buena Vista Studio features large north-facing windows, which means the lighting stays soft and fairly consistent throughout most of the day. Since the sun does not shine directly into the studio windows, the space maintains a more controlled natural light environment.

    For most of the year, the ideal shooting window is typically between 10 AM and 4 PM. Please note that winter and summer seasons may slightly shorten or extend these lighting hours depending on the time of year.

  • At the moment, we do not offer blackout curtains. However, we’re happy to work with you on scheduling evening or after-hours sessions to help achieve a darker lighting environment when needed.

  • Yes. Our movable cyclorama wall with detachable stage is included with your rental and can be repositioned within the space depending on your setup needs.

  • Yes. We offer a selection of seamless paper backdrops available for use during your session. Availability and colors may vary.

  • No additional fee is required to use our themed or seasonal installations during your reserved session unless otherwise stated. Most holiday and specialty setups are included with your standard rental while they are available in the studio.

    Please note that some larger-scale or premium installations may require a separate add-on fee depending on the setup, styling, or production involved. Any specialty pricing will always be communicated in advance.

  • Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own lighting, props, backdrops, and production equipment into the space.

  • Yes. Most furniture and props can be moved to fit your creative vision, including use on the cyclorama wall. We simply ask that furniture and larger items are lifted when moved and not scooted or dragged across the floors or cyc wall surface to help prevent damage. Please return all items to their original place before your session ends.

  • We do not have a dedicated changing room inside the studio. However, the restrooms are conveniently located right next to the studio and are commonly used for outfit changes during sessions.

  • Yes. It’s Texas, so staying cool and hydrated is a must. Complimentary waters are included with your rental for you and your guests to enjoy during your session.

  • Yes. Pets are welcome at Buena Vista Studio. We just ask that owners clean up after their pets and help us keep the studio beautiful for everyone.

  • Yes. During your reserved time, the studio is yours privately unless otherwise communicated for special events or shared creative days.

  • Yes. The building has AC, and Buena Vista Studio also has its own dedicated AC unit to help keep the space cool and comfortable.

  • Mini sessions are welcome. Workshops, styled shoots, or larger events may require prior written approval depending on the setup and attendance size.

  • Absolutely. We’d be happy to coordinate a quick walkthrough of the space when available. Send us a message to schedule a tour.

  • You will have access to the studio approximately 10 minutes before your scheduled session time to begin setup.

    Please note that breakdown and cleanup are included within your reserved booking time and must be completed by the end of your scheduled session. We kindly ask that all equipment, props, and personal items are cleared from the space before your reservation concludes to help us prepare for incoming bookings.

  • You will receive confirmation emails and reminder emails leading up to your session. Your studio access code and final arrival details will be texted to you the day before your booking, along with our helpful Studio Guide containing parking and building access information.

  • Please leave the studio in the same condition you found it, dispose of trash properly, and ensure all personal belongings and equipment are removed before leaving.

    Before exiting, please make sure the studio door is fully closed. The door will automatically lock behind you.

  • Bookings may be rescheduled up to 24 hours before your session. Requests made within 24 hours of the reservation are non-refundable and may not qualify for rescheduling.

  • Yes. We offer a limited number of memberships for photographers, creatives, and small business owners looking for recurring studio access and additional perks. If you’re interested in becoming a Buena member, please send us a message and we’d be happy to share more details and availability.
