Our community chose the very first Buena Vista Studio Photo of the Month.
Meet July’s Photo of the Month.
You showed up for Buena Vista Studio’s very first Photo of the Month, and we loved watching our community rally behind the artists creating inside the studio.
After 293 unique voters cast their ballots, one photograph received 87 votes.
July’s Photo of the Month is “Los Bebes” by San Antonio photographer Rachel Sanchez, also known as @rachelsfotos_sa.

Photo of the Month
Born and raised in San Antonio, Rachel has had a camera in her hands for as long as she can remember. Her creative path has taken her from Nikon and Canon cameras to Sony, with a few disposable film cameras along the way.
No matter the equipment, her purpose has remained the same: preserving the people, perspectives, and moments that make a life feel personal.
About a year ago, Rachel took the leap and purchased her first mirrorless camera. As she approached the end of her first full year, she wanted to challenge herself by creating in an all-natural-light studio.
That search led her to Buena Vista Studio in downtown San Antonio. Rachel booked the studio during the Garden of Eden installation and knew it would be the right setting for her clients.
The session celebrated the beginning of a new chapter, with their two beloved dogs beside them. The result was “Los Bebes,” a photograph filled with connection and the kind of memory Rachel has always been drawn to preserving.

“Los Bebes” was displayed as a 24-by-36-inch pigment print in the hallway outside Buena Vista Studio throughout August 2026, where it remained until the next Photo of the Month winner was announced.
The display gave visitors the opportunity to experience Rachel’s photograph at full scale while learning more about the artist behind the work.
After its time on display, the print became Rachel’s to keep.
Visibility for every artist.
The July Photo of the Month promotion generated more than 10,000 impressions. That visibility extended beyond the winning photograph. Every participating artist had their work introduced to the Buena Vista Studio community during the voting period.

Each finalist received visibility for their work, name, and creative perspective during the public vote.
Unique voters
Hundreds of people participated, discovered new artists, and helped extend the reach of the photographers involved.
Impressions represent the total number of times campaign content was displayed. They do not represent 10,000 unique individuals or guarantee that each artist received the same amount of exposure. They do show the collective reach created when artists, voters, and the studio share and support one another.
More than a competition.
Photo of the Month gives photographers another way to place their work in front of new audiences, connect with local creatives, and become part of the story being built inside Buena Vista Studio.
Winning comes with a printed feature, complimentary studio time, and a dedicated artist spotlight. But the opportunity for visibility begins with participation.
When artists submit, share, and invite their communities to vote, we help one another reach people we may not have reached alone. Every introduction has the potential to grow an artist’s network and strengthen San Antonio’s creative community.
Photo of the Month is open to photographs created at Buena Vista Studio within the previous 60 days. If you created something at Buena that deserves a closer look, we would love to see it.
