Meet August’s Photo of the Month.
August’s winning photograph is A Return to Simplicity by San Antonio photographer Alejandro Deleon (@mezameruu), featuring model Paola Miano (@paolamianoo).
Ten artists shared their work with the Buena community, and 204 unique voters helped choose the winner. Alejandro’s photograph now has a place on our Photo of the Month wall.

Alejandro Deleon
Alejandro works across commercial, hospitality, culinary, and fashion photography. For this image, he gathered the everyday tools that shape his work and returned to basic color theory.
He pared the process back to one camera, one lens, and one subject. The result is a vivid study of color and texture, shaped by a decision to slow down and reconnect with the way he sees.

Alejandro and Paola visited the hallway outside Suite 205 to see the winning photograph displayed at full scale. A moment worth keeping beyond the screen.

A Return to Simplicity is displayed as a 24-by-36-inch pigment print outside Buena Vista Studio during September, until the next winner is announced.
Visitors can experience the photograph at full scale and discover the artist behind it. After its time on the wall, the print is Alejandro’s to keep.

July’s Photo of the Month promotion generated more than 10,000 impressions across social media. That earlier response showed what can happen when artists and their communities share the work. In August, all ten finalists had their photographs introduced to the Buena community.

More than a competition.
Photo of the Month gives photographers a way to share work made at Buena Vista Studio, meet a wider creative community, and see a winning photograph displayed in print. Alejandro also receives two complimentary studio hours and this dedicated feature.
